Royer Named Director of Client Services

Brett Royer is named Director of Client Services at Sentinel Risk Advisors

One of the greatest lessons learned for businesses in this pandemic has to be the value of relationships. The pandemic confirmed what Sentinel has long suspected: For all of the insurance industry’s focus on technology and innovation in recent years, it’s the human touch within the service platform that still matters most. Starting today, Brett Royer will stand at the forefront of the firm’s account service team as Director of Client Services, a newly created role born of Sentinel’s greatest takeaway from a pandemic that has taken much from many.

“On your worst day, you hope you’ve built the right relationships with the right people who will fight for you,” said Jim Holmes, Sentinel’s founder and managing partner. “As much as we’ve been that relationship for our clients, our service team now has that person, too, in Brett Royer.”

Holmes said the new role and Royer’s internal promotion is part of the firm’s continued elevation of its high-touch, high-value client services platform; a key differentiator for the independently owned and locally managed brokerage.

“To give our clients service that rises to the level of an exceptional experience, we ought to make sure our team gets exceptional support; a champion who will lead the way. And there is no better champion, for our clients or our team, than Brett Royer.”

Royer joined the firm in 2018. A Pennsylvania native, he garnered extensive experience managing high-net-worth investment accounts before transitioning to property and casualty, where his technical acumen on complex commercial risk is nothing short of impressive. Royer’s leadership skills were on display from day one at Sentinel, his management style drawn from a heightened attention to detail, a penchant for technical problem solving, an inquisitive nature tending toward tenacity, and a calm, quieting demeanor.

“I’m excited to take on the role of Director of Client Services and the chance to be part of Sentinel’s continued growth and success,” said Royer. “It’s very humbling to work with so many talented individuals and be entrusted with this responsibility.”
