2023 NCMS Plan Rate Reduction

The North Carolina Medical Society Employee Benefit Plan (NCMS Plan), a high-quality, cost-effective health benefits solution for physicians and employees, is implementing a base rate reduction for the second consecutive year, effective January 1, 2023.

Following a rate reduction in 2022 of 6.2%, the Plan will reduce base rates again by 3% for the 2023 Plan year. In comparison the commercial market will implement increase of approximately 6-8% in the small group market (2-50 employees) and an average 5% in the large group market (51+employees).

The NCMS Employee Benefit Plan (NCMS Plan), is available exclusively through Sentinel Benefits Consulting, a division of Sentinel. It is the only statewide health benefits plan designed by and for North Carolina physicians in need of customized health and dental programs.
